Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome back to our new school year. We have been so impressed by the children in the first week of school. They have showed really excellent learning behaviour from the very beginning and there is a huge sense of optimism around Kingsham about what the children can achieve again this year.

We spent some time in assembly reflecting on the multitude of opportunities that the staff provided for the children last year and how highly they achieved from Reception to Year 6. We are looking forward to another year where we match and exceed the achievements of last year.

‘Meet the Teacher’ Meetings and the PTA Welcome picnic on Thursday 17^th September

We are hosting our Meet the Teacher Meetings for Years 1 to 4 and the PTA Welcome picnic on Thursday 17^th September.

For parents and carers of children in Year 1 and 2 (Ash and Cherry) the Meet the Teacher meeting will be at 2:50pm in the hall.

For parents and carers of children in Year 3 and 4 (Maple, Oak and Willow) the Meet the Teacher meeting will be at 3:25pm in the hall.

After these meetings, we will host the PTA Welcome Picnic on the field from 3:30pm onwards. This will be an opportunity to bring a picnic, spend some time with other families from the school and talk to the PTA about the events which will be coming up and hopefully get involved to support.

Congratulations

A huge congratulations to Miss Kyriakides who got married at the beginning of August. She will now be known in school as Mrs Kyriakides (or Mrs K). We are all delighted for her and her new husband.

School Day

Just a reminder that the school day begins at 8:40. We open the gates at 8:35 so that children can be in class and begin some vital reading at the beginning of the day. Please support us in this by bringing the children in punctually for 8:40.

No phones at pick-up and drop-off

We wanted to remind all parents and carers that we encourage everyone to avoid using their phones at pick-up and drop-off. This is simply because we want to encourage an atmosphere where children can instantly make eye contact with their special person and have a valuable conversation without any distractions.

School Uniform

As we start a new academic year, the children look very smart in their Kingsham Uniforms. For a full list of the required uniforms please click here.

Can we please urge you to name all items of clothing, shoes, water bottles, lunchboxes and PE Kit? Every term, we have so much lost property which is so easy to return to the child if it is clearly named.

We have a range of boxes where we keep lost property and children can always search in there for anything they have lost. We will also ensure we wheel out these boxes on a Friday after school for you to search through if your child has lost something.

Open Afternoons

As families begin to consider the school that they want to send their child to in September 2026, we are hosting two open afternoons. This is an opportunity for families to come and look around the school and to speak to the staff, governors and pupils. If you know anyone who has a child of school age in September 2026, please let them know about our open afternoons:

• Thursday 1^st October: 1:30 – 3pm
• Tuesday 10^th November 1:30 – 3pm

 

Trim Trail outside Ash Class

Can we please remind our families that children are not permitted to play on the play equipment outside of Ash class before or after school. Our risk assessment is clear that children must be supervised while on the equipment to enjoy it safely. We are not able to supervise your children before and after school and therefore cannot allow them to play on the equipment at these times.
