Welcome Back to the Summer Term

    Dear Parents and Carers

It is amazing to think that we have only got a third of this academic year left! Last term was such a great term with so many opportunities for the children. They have absolutely shone throughout the Spring term and it has been a delight to hear all of the praise and positive comments from visitors and from others following a Kingsham visit. We hear again and again how curious our learners are and how respectful and well-behaved they are – the children really are a credit to the Kingsham community. We are very proud of them.

I started the day today with our headteacher’s awards assembly where two children were chosen from each class. It is so heart-warming to hear about the achievements and attitudes from the children who were awarded and celebrate some of the highlights from the Spring term. A huge thank you to all of the staff, as always, for making this happen for our children.

    Opportunities at Kingsham

The children achieved so much last year from the Year 5/6 girls team being Pokemon Cup 7-a-side Champions to the Year 3/4 children exhibiting their artwork as artists in residence at Goodwood art foundation. We always try to share the photos on Instagram as well as in the galleries on our website here.

    Parent/Carer Consultations

For the final consultations of the year, it is an opportunity for your children to take you through their key highlights from the year. The children love sharing their work and examples of their achievements with you. This is also an opportunity for you to receive the end of year report and to find out which class they will be in from September 2027. The dates are detailed below.

    Attendance

Our attendance continues to improve year-on-year. A huge thank you to all of our families that make a huge effort to ensure their children only miss school when it cannot be avoided. Please continue to support our progress by ensuring your children have excellent attendance. It makes such a difference to their progress at school when their attendance is over 95%. You can check your child’s attendance at any time on the Arbor app.

    School Uniform

You can see full details of our school uniform on our website here. As the weather improves, can we remind parents and carers to ensure that children are not wearing crocs or flip-flops to school. We have to ensure we are prioritising safety and we want to prevent accidents in PE and at break and lunchtimes by ensuring children have appropriate footwear.

Please also ensure that your children have a water bottle every day.

    Hidden Treasure Hunt

I would like to continue our plee for our families to recycle their eWaste at Currys. If you have any broken or unused electricals please take them into Currys and then register that you have done so on this website: https://www.hiddentreasurehunt.org/ they will then email you so that you can verify your email address. We are currently second on the leaderboard – as it stands, we could win £3000 of tech vouchers for the school.

    Pick-Up and Drop-off

A few key reminders when dropping off and picking up your children from school:

    • Please park considerately. The school is in the heart of a residential area and there are times when local residents are unable to leave their properties due to being blocked in. We always encourage people to park at the far side of the oval and walk from there.
    • Please ensure children are walking their bikes and scooters when they get through the school gates. This is to ensure no one gets injured when there are so many people on our school site.
    • Please do not use the play equipment outside of Ash class. We do not have adult supervision available at pick-up and drop-off and so we ask you to prevent your children from using this equipment to avoid injuries.
