As the host of Kingsham and Berewood’s 2026 Poetry by Heart competition I would like to confess it was out of this world! The community it built was such an amazing delight. The performances were to such a high standard – they took us all to a new world!  

Everyone that participated spoke clearly showed expression and it was clear we have some amazing poets on our hands! They filled the room by only saying a few words.   

The judges of this competition included Mr Dallinger, Mrs Carter and Mrs Maxted who were watching for our champions. Not only were there poems for the competition, there were special performances including teachers and pupils.  

I would like to say a very big congratulations to our winner Rose! 

But a big shout out to those who came in the top 4: Jago, Zachary and Beau 

Thanks to all who participated our judges our audience and my co host, Cyrus!  

We look forward to hearing if anyone from our schools make the final at Shakespeare's Globe in London!
