Dear Parents and Carers

On the last day of the Autumn Term, I wanted to write to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It has been an incredible 2025 at Kingsham Primary School and the Autumn Term has been full of achievement and outstanding opportunities for the children. Today, we celebrated two children from each class who received a headteacher’s award. The children listened beautifully and celebrated their friends who have enjoyed a stand-out term. Well done to everyone who earned their headteacher’s award today.

We look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Monday 5th January after a really exciting and restful 2-week holiday.

Pear Class

In assembly today, the children and adults predicted that Mrs Johnson will be having a boy that weighs between 6 and 7 pounds. They suggested Jonathan, Harry or Johns as potential names too! We wish Mrs Johnson and her husband very well as they begin their family and look forward to meeting their baby in the new year.

Miss Naomi Davis has been in over the past weeks to get to know the children and the team and she is very excited to begin working with Pear class on 5th January. She is going to be an excellent member of our Kingsham team.

Thank you

An enormous thank you to all of our families, staff, governors, volunteers and school community for everything they have given to make 2025 such a great year for the school. Nothing is insurmountable with the support and handwork that we are so fortunate to enjoy from everyone involved with the school. Thank you so much for your support and we will look forward to another excellent year in 2026.

We have taken a good number of photos this term. To view them, please click here.

Christmas card competition

Well done to Anna and Nora who came first and second in Jess Brown-Fuller’s Christmas card competition. Jess came in and awarded Nora with her prize and certificate for being the chosen design following the social media vote.

Fundraising

The PTA have told me that they raised over £1000 for the school from the Christmas Fair. We will update you with an exact total in the new year together with where those funds are to be spent.

The total for Children in Need fundraising following our non-uniform day was £310.82.

Following our Christmas Jumper Day, we raised £107 for Save the Children.

Reading

As you rest and relax over the holidays, can we please encourage you to:

  • Read with your child
  • Read to your child
  • Listen to them read.

Your continued support in reading makes such a difference to your children’s progess.

Attendance

Thank you for all of your support with improving our attendance. We know the Autumn Term is normally the toughest when it comes to children falling ill. The children have shown such resilience which is reflected in our best attendance for many years. We are on the 80th percentile nationally. This is really something to celebrate!

Important Dates for Next Term:

  • Monday 5th January – First Day of Term
  • Tuesday 6th January – Trip to Ford Recycling Plant for invited children
  • Monday 12th January – First swimming session for Year 3 and 4
  • Thursday 15th January – Bikeability for Year 5
  • Monday 16th February – Friday 20th February – Half Term
  • Monday 23rd February - INSET Day – School closed to children

From all of the staff at the school, we wish you a really enriching time with your families and friends and we look forward to making 2026 even better!

Best wishes
